Still have questions about Autoresponders? Following are another set of frequently asked questions about Autoresponders. These answers may help you solve a problem or fine tune the way you use Autoresponders.

Autoresponder Question: Here’s my situation. I am changing the way I create my website so that I now use FrontPage. The Question is – Should I start creating a squeeze page before this transfer? If so, when a client signs up on my squeeze page where will their name and email go?

Answer: Yes, it is fine to create a squeeze page before the transfer. If a client subscribes to your list through your squeeze page then their name and email will go to your Autoresponder. Your Autoresponder is a separate program from your website. Therefore, the name and email will always go into your Autoresponder because it is linked to your hosting account.

Autoresponder Question: Here’s my situation. I use several squeeze pages, each of which has their own tracking tag. The question is – Do the client emails from all of these squeeze pages go into the same Autoresponder, but still keep their appropriate tracking tag?

Answer: Yes

Autoresponder Question: If you have several squeeze pages with unique tracking tags, will they all give the same thank you page in the Autoresponder?

Answer: Yes, unless you set up separate thank you pages for each tracked squeeze page. For example, you can have a thank you page that thanks somebody from coming from “Google” or “Yahoo”, etc. However, this can be very time consuming. It might be a lot easier to just have one thank you page that promotes you and your business. Does it really matter if you thank them for where they came from or just the fact that they are there?

Just thank them and move onto selling and promotion.

Autoresponder Question: Is the List-Opt website worth it? Does it work?

Answer: The List-Opt website has produced various results for different Internet businesses. Some Internet businesses have found success with it while others have had mediocre or poor results. You just have to try it out for yourself and see how it goes.

Why page title different in Google results from the defined title in the HTML code. Only thing I could think of is we use a www.host.com/client structure so it creates the title “Client – Host.com”

Is Your Church Social? Part 5: Church Marketing In Facebook

]]>

Over the past several weeks we’ve been looking at church marketing in social media. We’ve looked at using video sharing sites, like YouTube and GodTube, and now I’d like look at using social networking sites, specifically Facebook, currently the number one social networking website and third most popular social media site behind YouTube and Wikipedia. When looking for places to market your church, Facebook has a pretty big audience.

So what is Facebook?
Facebook is a social utility that helps people communicate more efficiently with their friends, family, and coworkers. The site provides a variety of features to facilitate communication between people as well as between organizations and people. Some of these features are news postings, chat, article distribution, photo sharing, and video sharing. With Facebook’s design, you can share information, pictures and videos quickly just by posting the info or media to your profile. That information or media can then be shared with all your “friends” or “fans” automatically.

The History:
Originally Facebook started out as an online college “facebook” at Harvard University created by then sophomore, Mark Zuckerberg, in 2004. More than half the students at Harvard had joined up within the first month. Considering that response, Facebook was opened up to all the Ivy League schools and then to pretty much every college and university in the US and Canada within a few months. In 2005 Facebook expanded to include high schools and finally in 2006 Facebook was opened for anyone over the age of 13.

Other than the fact that I find this history interesting, I wanted to share the history of Facebook to demonstrate the explosive growth and prominence of social media to demonstrate its value to church marketing.

Who’s Using Facebook?
In its first 2 years, Facebook grew from half the student population of Harvard, to a majority of all college students in the US and Canada. Since then, according to Facebook’s statistics page, Facebook has grown to more than 130 million active users. It is the 4th most trafficked website in the world, and it is the most trafficked social networking site in the world.

Here are some other interesting facts about Facebook:
• More than half the Facebook users are outside of college
• Over 85% of college students use Facebook
• The fasted growing demographic are people 25 years and older
• Facebook is also international with 35 translations currently available

So, who is using Facebook, a lot of people, probably a lot of your own congregation, and certainly a lot of people who you would like to bring into your congregation. In short just about everyone.

Facebook can be a great means of communicating with your congregation. It can also be a great way market your church and help your church members tell others about Christ and your church.

Over the next couple of articles, we’ll be looking at various ways to use Facebook for church marketing as well as church communication.

With permission from the Google AdWords Guide: Novice to Expert to Superhuman – http://www.AdwordsCampaign.net

1. RELEVANCE

A primary aim is to reduce your cost per click (CPC). Google will favour you with a low cost per click if you master the concept of relevance. If you don’t, your pay-per-click rate will be high, your profits will suffer, your campaigns will probably fail, and your competitors will beat you.

Google is the undisputed leader (by far) among search engines because it provides searchers with results more relevant than those of any other. When a surfer types in a search term, Google’s complex algorithm returns pages that match closely the words searched for.

Google applies the same principle to AdWords advertisements. Ads that are more relevant than others are given preferential treatment. Less relevant ads are allowed to compete, but they are penalized by a high cost per click.

Google AdWords employs two distinct modes of measurement of relevance: A. Robot; B. Human.

    A. An automated program compares the search term not only to your advertisement text, but also to the keywords in its Ad Group, to the URL of the specified landing page and even to the textual content of the landing page itself, to determine how relevant these components are to each other. If all four are tightly integrated with the search term, you’ll pay a very low cost per click — perhaps only 5 cents — and still command a high position on Google’s first page. Any component that does not match the search term closely causes the CPC to rise, perhaps even by a factor of a hundred!

    B. Every time Google displays your ad, it records the fact. This is known as an “impression”. If a surfer clicks on the ad, Google records that also, and divides the number of clicks by the number of impressions. The result gives your ad a “click-through” rate (CTR). A similar calculation is made for your keywords that appear in the search term, to give them their own click-through rate. Google AdWords assumes that, if a human clicks on your ad, it is probably relevant to the search term typed in.

As your CTR rises, so do your keywords’ Quality Scores, and, as more and more keywords’ Quality Scores rise, so does the Quality Score of the entire Ad Group. The higher the Quality Score is, the lower will be the cost per click. Conversely, the fewer clicks your ad gets whenever it’s displayed, the lower your Quality Score and the higher your cost per click will be.

How to Increase Relevance of the 4 Components (keywords, ad text, URL, landing page)

If you create a campaign manually (rather than by “brute force” means), use only one keyword phrase per Ad Group, e.g., “adwords guide”, and specify exact match initially. Once the Ad Group’s Quality Score has increased, expand it to phrase match also, to capture phrases such as “online adwords guide” and “adwords guide for beginners”. (To specify broad match, to capture search terms like “adwords online guide” and “guide to adwords”, is impractical unless you use “brute force” software.)

Use the precise keyword phrase in the heading of the Ad Variation, and sprinkle the keywords in the two description lines.

Use the keyword phrase, hyphenated or unhyphenated, in the display URL, e.g., “/adwords-guide” or “/AdWordsGuide”. Not only does Google’s robot consider it relevant, but humans do, too, and are more likely to click on the ad.

Use the keyword phrase, hyphenated or unhyphenated, in the destination URL of the landing page, e.g., “/adwords-guide.html” or “/AdWordsGuide.htm”.

If possible, register domain names, both hyphenated and unhyphenated, containing the keyword phrase. Use the hyphenated one in the display and destination URLs, and redirect the unhyphenated one to the hyphenated one for other promotion purposes.

Use the keywords in the landing page content as follows:
– The precise keyword phrase in the

AdWords Strategies to Increase Page Position

There are many AdWords strategies to consider however the purpose of this Article is to help you understand why it is important to have a high page position and what AdWords strategies you can implement to in order to obtain one. The while there are many reasons for you to obtain a high page position I will only concentrate one to for now as it is considered to be by many the most important. The reason that you want a high page position in Google AdWords is an obvious one for most; you want more traffic. Traffic leads to more sales. In other words the more traffic you have the more money you make. The more visible your AdWords ad is to the reader then the more clicks you are likely to get. In other words the less work a person has to do in order to see your add the better. If you AdWords Ad is in the first position Google’s search results the user looking for a product can more easily see your ad then if you were in the 10th position.

Google AdWords Quality Score

Google AdWords uses a quality score system to rate your ads keywords in relation to your overall campaign. The Quality score of Google AdWords is very important when considering page position and is directly related. Let me explain. The better your quality score the lower your cost per click will be, assuming that all other areas of your campaign are in unison with other AdWords quality score criteria. There are several determining factors to consider when trying to obtain a high quality score, however I will focus on two main factors for now that can have a dramatic effect on your quality score. The first determining factor is that of relevance. The more relevant you overall campaign is to your to the product or service you are selling is the better. You don’t want to have the keyword “meditation” if your advertisement says “AdWords Strategies” unless your selling meditation related products or services. The history of your campaign is also very important in determining your quality score. If you have had a bad campaign on a certain URL that you are using for a landing page in the past and you are struggling to increase your quality score, you may want to consider starting a new campaign with a new URL.

The “Pay Over” Strategy

Another AdWords strategy for those that have money to spare is one of the most obvious. For this AdWords strategy what you are going to do is outbid your competitor. However your are not just going to bid the going rate. You are going to bid well over the highest rate. By doing this you are accomplishing three things. First of all in most cases you are going to be in the number one page position on Google. Secondly You are going to increases the bid for your competitors. Additionally you will be making it harder for your competitors to compete with you, and possible have them drop out of the competition for your keyword or keywords all together. Now you are not going to keep your bid over the highest suggested price for too long. Once you see your competitors drop out of the competition you can go ahead and reduce your bid, while still obtaining the highest page position.

Conclusion

In conclusion page position is arguably one of the most important factors to consider when starting an advertising campaign with Google AdWords. The higher your page position is the more visible your AdWords ad is, which ultimately can translate into more clicks, which in turn can mean more sales. There are many things you can do to increase your page position however some of the easiest and most effective are improving your quality score and paying more than your competitor. Overall, implementing AdWords strategies can be lot of work and takes focus and determination, however in the end it’s worth it.

I wrote this article about last week ago and already published to my blog. By at the time, I do not decide to submit this article to any articles directory because this article seem give bad impression to some party. However after I have reviewed and made changes to this article, I’ve changed my mind that I decide to submit this article. The reason I did it is to giving the real story of what is real happened to some publishers.

Before I go further, I would like to specify what is the meaning of SCAM is. Based to my understanding, SCAM can be referred to the financial cheat or financial fraudulent, in which they promise you to pay but at the end you won’t get the pay.

So is the Google AdSense program is a SCAM?

First of all I would like to explain what is the Google AdSense program. Referring to the Google site, “Google AdSense is a free, simple way for website publishers of all sizes to earn money by displaying targeted Google ads on their websites. AdSense also lets you provide Google search to your site users, while earning money by displaying Google ads on the search results pages.”

Note: the URL accessed on jan 21, 2011

Based on the definition by Google of what is their AdSense. It is clear stated that the program is free and simple way for website publisher of all sizes to earn money. I would like to emphasize the word “Money” or to earn “Money” is can be categorized as a financial program that will pay out money.

I do not want go further on their Policies and T.O.S as I will focus it in my second article on this issue on part 2.

So go to the question. Is Google AdSense program is a SCAM?

Before I answered this question, after read all the participants and web publishers on this program and also from various forums included Google AdSense forum. I can concluded that this Google AdSense program have some trick of SCAM type. Below is my consideration of why I am saying that:

1.      Many complained that when their payment reached threshold E.G $100 or near to the threshold, Google will disable their account.

2.      Google disabled their publishers account after VERIFIED for payment. When account is VERIFIED, the publishers are entitled for payment. I am not sure why Google AdSense Report shown as “Verified”. But at the end, it is so suspiciously that “disabling account” happened when it come nearly to the payment period.

3.      If there are suspicious activities by publishers, then why their account is VERIFIED for payment. The annoying point is that Google hasn’t explained why this happened after the verification process. So simply today you give hope, and then tomorrow you killed the hope.

4.      Account disabled without ANY PRIOR NOTICE OR WARNING. The publishers should be warned or informed if Google detected that there any are suspicious activity on their site(s). Without any prior notice or warning, so anyone can go to your site(s) and clicks hundreds even thousands of time on your ads in your web site in order your account will be disabled by Google. Who knows these “malicious users”? Also people can sabotage you by clicking your ads thousands time. Then you will get notification message from Google AdSense Team informed that your account is disabled. It is just like that.

5.      And after the account is disabled, most saying that the chance to get back the account is almost impossible. So sadly publishers never got any payment, never got the second chance.

6.      Most cases, Google AdSense will disable the participants account in the little amount, which is around threshold payment approximately around $80 USD to $200. Yes, it is easy to disable account for this amount since everyone knows (included Google) that it is not worth to hire a lawyer to get back this amount.

7.      Google has term “Prior approval” method, but do not have “Prior Warning on suspicious activity”. So Google simply punished you even though you are innocent. So anyone or malicious user can go to your web site and clicks hundreds even thousands of time on ads in your web site in order your account will be disabled by Google. Anyone can create robots, and attack to any targeted website which has adsense ads and clicks thousands of time in order their account will be “DISABLED”. However Google has the right as publishers agreed to their T.O.S.

8.      Google says the web site breaking the Google adsense policy because in the publishers do not have “Privacy Policy” on their site(s) that imposed by Google. It is so cruel to disabled the publishers account by simply not having a “Privacy Policy” term in their web site. If this breaking of Google AdSense policies, why the AdSense ads appear on their site(s). Why the clicks come from this web site also calculated and verified? This is clear a trap to punished publishers. Appropriate method is Google must cancelled out all the clicks come from the site(s) that do not followed the policies and NOT to disabled their accounts. The punishment is totally harsh. Google is so Cruel in business and seem like just concerned to find mistake and disabled account so not to pay to their publishers.

9.      Google says they have great tracking system, if they really have the great tracking system, then they must attached the “result of their tracking” to the participants email as a proved that there are a suspicious activity happened. Not just simply message notification like that below:

“After reviewing our records, we’ve determined that your AdSense account poses a risk of generating invalid activity. Because we have a responsibility to protect our AdWords advertisers from inflated costs due to invalid activity, we’ve found it necessary to disable your AdSense account. Your outstanding balance and Google’s share of the revenue will both be fully refunded to the affected advertisers.”

Note:* Email message from Google AdSense Team

10.  The above message emailed by Google AdSense Team to their respective publishers informed that their AdSense account is disabled. It is done without any CLEAR REASON, without any attachment(s) or document(s) to support the decision. Claiming that they have great tracking system but yet Mr Google do not show at least traffic log for suspicious activity to their respective publishers. So anyone can simply emailing message like that. Blaming is easy matter without proof.

11.  In the simple message, the Google AdSense team stated that

“After reviewing our records, we’ve determined that your AdSense account poses a risk of generating invalid activity.”

Herewith, Google Adsense Team must have responsible to attach of the document(s) or information (at least traffic log for suspicious activity) to their respective publishers so that to support their decision. Not just blindly disabled the participants account. Again Google still has the right of doing so as stated in their T.O.S.

12. The punishment has been made without any supportive document(s) and attachment(s) provided to the publishers. Publishers account automatically “Disabled”. Yet Google still has the right of doing so as the publishers agreed to their T.O.S.

13.  Claiming that they have great tracking system, but yet they unable to filter “Spam Clicks” for their own program.

14.  Google plays God here – sorry, we can’t tell you why you are guilty and we don’t need to prove it to you. Good bye. Is this statement included in Google T.O.S or policies? Not sure.

“You are Guilty but We will not Tell You Why”

So based on the above reason, I can concluded that, Google AdSense program have some trick of SCAM type. I am not totally said that Google AdSense is a SCAM but yet they have some trick of SCAM type.

The publishers are seriously facing the threat that their account will be banned at anytime without any clear reason. The trick is just hiding behind their policies and T.O.S. This is a trick to not pay out money to publishers and can be seen as a trick of SCAM type. Simply by saying “your AdSense account poses a risk of generating invalid activity”.
